MOROCCAN DRIED FLORAL BOUQUET & POTTERY VASE WORKSHOP
Create the dried floral bouquet of your dreams, such a fashionable statement piece in your home or work environment! Dried flowers and grasses really are a super sustainable option to enjoy colourful and unique flowers all year round. We meet at the Riad and start the workshop by a visit to the souks around the Riad, where we will take our vases to use for your bouquets. We will then get back to the Riad and start the workshop by explaining the techniques of a well-structured and natural flow to your bouquet, which flowers and colours combine well and diversity of flowers and grasses that can be found in and around Marrakech.

DRIED FLOWER WREATH
Learn how to make a beautiful decorative wreath with dried flowers, to brighten up any space. During the workshop the teacher will explain to you the background and variety of (dried) flowers in and around Marrakech, the different techniques and shapes of making wreaths, and the use of different colours and textures.

FLOWERS AND GRASSES OF MARRAKECH - BOUQUET OR FLOWER WREATH
Visit the flower market in Gueliz, a small but bustling centre for the local florists to sell their flowers and dried grasses. Learn more about what is available in and around Marrakech, uncovering a fascinating array of flowers and grasses that changes with the seasons. We will source our materials and flowers to later work with, followed by a small drink break. We will then return to the Riad where we set up our work space and start preparing our flowers which eventually lead into making a very special dried flower bouquet or hanging wreath: a memory of Marrakech that will last forever! You will take home your bouquet or flower wreath.

The bloom room
Laura from The Bloom Room is originally from the Netherlands, a wonderful place famous for its bright flower fields and blooming markets.
Her young business was born in the period of Covid. While the city was on lockdown she managed to create wonderful things, delivered bouquets of flowers all over the city and brought smiles to people's faces.
In our opinion, the power of flowers goes beyond aesthetics, they have the therapeutic power to brighten people's day and for this reason we decided to collaborate with Laura.
How will the workshops take place?
All workshops will be held on the Terrace of our Riad, they will be creative hours accompanied by lots of laughter, delicious sweets and Moroccan teas prepared by our chef Rachida.
No specific skills are required, just a great desire to create together.
WHICH FLOWERS WILL BE USED?
We thought of using dried flowers because they are maintenance-free, do not need light and water and are comfortable to be transported by plane. Every day Laura searches for and discovers new varieties of local herbs, palms and flowers never seen before at the local flower market.
The warm Moroccan summer sun offers perfect conditions for drying and storing the flowers that he personally works in his studio in Marrakech. Dried flowers when treated with care are a very sustainable alternative to making wonderful fresh flowers look beautiful forever.
